How to Create and Sell an Ebook in a Weekend

Alright, bestie. So you’ve been saying, “I wanna write an ebook,” for how long now? Weeks? Months? Girl, let’s stop playing. I’m about to break down how you can bang out that ebook and start making sales this weekend. Grab your iced coffee (or wine, I don’t judge) and let’s get into it!

Pick Your Topic – What’s Something Your Audience Would Be Interested In

Let’s talk about something you probably never realized you could pull off: creating and selling an ebook in just TWO days. Yup, 48 hours. That’s enough time to secure your coins and start showing people why you’re that girl in your niche.

First things first, what’s your ebook about? Think about what people are always asking you for advice on. What’s that one thing you can talk about for hours? Natural hair care? Budget travel tips? How to finesse social media algorithms? Whatever it is, pick something you KNOW people need and are willing to pay for. Your ebook doesn’t have to be a 300 page novel… it’s all about serving value.

Ask yourself, “What problem can I help my audience solve right now?”

Check your DMs, comments, and other people’s comment section for inspo, I guarantee people have already talked about what they want or want to know. Boom, there’s your topic.

Outline It Like You’re Plotting a Scandal

You need a structure! Don’t just freestyle and hope it comes together. Write down your intro, main points, and conclusion. If it’s five chapters, cool. If it’s three, that’s fine too.

You want to focus on these:

  • Start with the problem your audience is facing.
  • Drop gems in the middle—this is where you flex your expertise.
  • End with actionable steps (nobody wants to read bs).

Write Like You’re Talking to Your Homegirl

Listen, your ebook doesn’t have to sound like a college thesis, okay? Nobody wants to read dry, boring content. Write the way you speak, but polished.

Pretend your reader is sitting across the table, nodding along like, “Yes, girl, I needed this!” Use your jokes and vibes. Make it fun, easy to read, and PACKED with value. And don’t overthink it.

Your readers want YOU, not some watered down version. Keep it real, keep it relatable, and keep it flowing.

Automate the Process

We’re busy, so make this easy on yourself. Use platforms like Gumroad, Teachable, or Shopify to sell your ebook. They handle the downloads for you, so you can just sit back and count your sales.

But that doesn’t mean you don’t need to do any work! Create new content around it and don’t be afraid to slide it into conversations. If you’ve got receipts (testimonials, results, etc.), even better, people trust proof.

You want to use your social media platforms to build anticipation. Create a few Pinterest posts, if you’re using Facebook, schedule your content to post up to a month in advance, or create reels on IG.

Marketing Cheat Code: Offer a freebie, like a checklist or guide, and pitch your ebook at the end. Easy upsell.

There’s multiple ways to market your product. If you’re interested in other ways, take a look at my ebook on Branding Marketing and Advertising.

Your ebook can be done this weekend. You want to keep saying, “I’ll do it someday,” or start making sales by Sunday?
